About Volunteering for the
MKE 2024 Host Committee

Who can volunteer?

All are welcome, but you must be 16 years or older at the time of your volunteer shift. Those under the age of 16 are welcome but will be required to have a parent or guardian sign up and volunteer with them. Volunteering with the Host Committee counts toward community service hours! Please note, all volunteers must complete a background check. We will provide next steps on this once you are signed up.

What will volunteers do?

Host Committee volunteers will ensure that visitors have the best possible experience in Milwaukee. Volunteers will welcome guests in various roles throughout the week of the convention including with operations, transportation, wayfinding, and as airport and hotel greeters.

Where will I volunteer?

Shifts will take place in downtown Milwaukee, both in and outside of the security perimeter, and at official convention hotels all across southeastern Wisconsin. These hotels are located north to Sheboygan, south to Kenosha and Lake Geneva, west to Madison, and everywhere in between.

Do I need to be available the entire week?

No, volunteers just need to volunteer for at least one shift. Volunteering the entire week is an option, but not required. Average volunteer shifts are 4-6 hours and volunteers will choose shifts based on their schedule.

What is provided to volunteers?

Volunteers will receive a uniform, a training session, and a shift meal. Please note, for shifts taking place in downtown Milwaukee, official convention transportation will be provided from an offsite shift meet-up point to prevent the need for volunteers to find parking downtown. No other transportation or lodging will be provided at any point around or during the convention.

If traveling in from out of town, I understand that any lodging or transportation needs are my own responsibility. If needed, I plan to secure these arrangements on my own, should I be selected to volunteer.

The MKE 2024 Host Committee is working on behalf of the City of Milwaukee, its businesses, and its residents to welcome tens of thousands of guests traveling to the Republican National Convention.
